By Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in Mozart’s tuneful and infectious masterpiece, Figaro is planning to marry his bride-to-be, Susanna, but the wedding day goes off-script thanks to the Count’s lusty desires. Recruiting the aid of the Countess and a lovesick youth to thwart the Count’s schemes, Susanna outsmarts them all in a crazy day of disguise, duplicity, and merry mix ups that occur all the way to the altar.
The Marriage of Figaro is a new co-production with Opera Philadelphia, San Diego Opera and Lyric Opera of Kansas City.
Sung in Italian with English supertitles projected above the stage.
