Sant Ambroeus Debuts New Lunch Menu Items with Palm Beach Social Diary

Sant Ambroeus Palm Beach opened its doors in the fall of 2016, bringing old-world European Charm to the Royal Poinciana Plaza. Inspired by the Italian Gran Caffé’s of the 1950’s, Sant Ambroeus exudes elegance and class amidst its mid-century modern lines and rich traditional Italian finishes. 

As firm believers in the 'Ladies Who Lunch' philosophy, Palm Beach Social Diary couldn't resist an opportunity to experience Sant Ambroeus' new fall menu options, and an experience it was! From impeccable service to indulgent dishes, we loved everything about our afternoon at Sant Ambroeus. The chef and staff were kind enough to prepare a few new dishes from their main and prix fixe menus, the latter of which includes and appetizer, main course and dessert for $35 and is available for lunch Monday through Friday.

Our antipasti included a selection of fresh and seasonal dishes that are as much a treat for the eyes as they are the stomach.

We were immediately impressed by the beautiful and bright burrata, featuring a yellow beet salad and crispy salted kale. The crunch of the kale combined with the creamy burrata and sweet beets made a winning combination that paired perfectly with the Bresaola Carpaccio. Served with arugula, Parmigiano Reggiano and aged balsamic vinegar, the tender carpaccio was simply delicious, and focused on the superior quality of the ingredients. Our third appetizer was a light and crispy pizza with eggplant ribbons and sun dried tomato sauce. A beautiful beginning to a lovely lunch.

Our secondi, or main dish, included Wagyu Short Rib Sliders served with fries and homemade harissa ketchup. This flavorful wagyu beef was topped with pickled red onions and finished with a spicy jalapeño mayo creating a refined twist on the slider. We also tried the linguine vongole with one pound of Manila clams and fresh parsley. Our favorite dish of the day was the melt-in-your-mouth Costoletta di Angelo, a beautiful wild Icelandic rack of lamb with eggplant sauce, lemon and fresh mint.

All three dishes were presented beautifully. We were taken to each dish, even something as simple as sliders, having a pop of color that made each stand out on the table.

After the meal we decided to muse the delicately crafted pastries and decided on a simple but decadent cappuccino in the café area. Topped with an oh-so-cute heart design in the foam, the cappuccino and Sant Ambroeus' café harken to traditional Italian coffee service where the morning ritual is not merely grab and go but a social experience.
