The beverage menu, as extensive as its food counterpart, offers the same creativity and culinary technique as each dish, handcrafted to cocktail perfection. From service to presentation, The Office delivered a gastronomic experience to impress. We began our power lunch al Fresco style with the freshly brewed Ginger Peach Iced Tea, refreshing and flavorful, our afternoon on the Ave was off to a splendid start. For bites, we wanted to try a variety of small plates, although "small" they were not. We were in awe as the colossal pretzel arrived to the table and became the new centerpiece - and center of conversation. Spectacular in sight and smell, the buttery hot pretzel was served with bacon honey butter and cheese sauce, a definite must try. We also couldn't pass up the macaroni and cheese bites served with extra cheese sauce and marinara. Fried to crispy perfection and extra cheesy, it's no wonder these tasty morsels are a favorite here.
On a healthier note, we tried the beautifully prepared tuna tartare, stacked on fresh avocado and crispy wonton, served in a kimchee sauce and topped with cilantro. This was absolutely a crowd pleaser, and devoured almost instantaneously. The tuna was super fresh and served chilled, a perfect addition to lunch al Fresco.
The "angry cauliflower" was sensational, and so unexpected. The sweet and spicy chili sauce resembled the flavor of orange chicken, without the breading and MSG. The cauliflower was crispy on the outside and incredibly flavorful. Definitely order one for the table (you'll thank us later!).
A seasonal menu item, that could constitute an entire meal in itself, was the sweet and satisfying grilled pear salad. Served with marinated grilled pears, butter leaf lettuce, radishes, tomatoes, herbed goat cheese, and pecan brittle, this salad was absolutely divine, and a flavor punch in every bite. Bonus, the pecan brittle doubles as a dessert...although we couldn't say no to frozé and a warm chocolate fudge brownie with ice-cream and mixed berries!
Since everything we ordered was so divine, we decided to indulge in an "afternoon cap". The Office frozé is rosé wine, vodka and ice, basically heaven in a glass. Refreshing and not too sweet, it was unanimously the best frozé we've had the pleasure of drinking. Served chilled with a side of warm gooey brownie was definitely the sweetest ending. The brownie was melt-in-your-mouth chocolatey goodness, served a la mode with fresh berries, that perfectly complimented the froze. A truly unique and exceptional dining experience.
