Ocean Sotheby's International Realty's "Key" to Island Life

Welcome to Ocean Sotheby's International Realty ('OSIR'), the premier real estate team in The Florida Keys. Comprised of trusted, seasoned, and local professionals, the OSIR team understands the dynamics of buying, selling, and living the Florida Keys lifestyle. According to OSIR expert agent, Cynthia Hughes, the "key" to their success is providing the highest level of service and expertise, and cultivating, developing, and maintaining relationships with their clients.

To this stellar team of agents and brokers, helping you select a property in the Florida Keys is just the start of your relationship. What they really pride themselves on is making you feel at home - and this concept extends to everything from introducing you to interior decorators to helping select art to hang on your walls, recommending restaurants (and dining with you if you're up for some fun!), a cruise on their boat to see the area from the water, and even helping you buy your very own watercraft!

Last month we had the pleasure of experiencing the OSIR approach to real estate and client relationships firsthand (read all about our trip to Islamorada here!). What we saw from their team is that, whether you're renting a property or buying a lavish home on a private island, the level of service is top notch and the same across the board. Their approach is unique in that their clients become a part of the OSIR family, including a relationship that truly transcends simply signing a contract with them. The OSIR agents have years of experience in the Keys, and their knowledge and connections will make your transition seamless. They make it easy to live the island life - and they should know best! If you do buy a house in Islamorada, they will also be your neighbors.

What we loved most about the OSIR team is how much they made us feel at home. They extended friendly invitations to island happenings, provided helpful information about their favorite local hot spots, and even invited us out to dinner. Awaiting our arrival at the beautiful "Glass House" was bottomless beverages, gorgeous orchid arraignments by Christy's Island Orchids, and an array of delicious french bread, cheeses, charcuterie and croissants, courtesy of local Frenchman and OSIR agent Pierre Bellion. He and his wife own an adorable French bakery just up the road called Café Mocha Travernier where you can always expect a warm welcome and an even warmer authentic French pastry!

As if the welcome party wasn't enough, we were immediately in love with our weekend accommodations and thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunset over the sapphire waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Our beachfront abode, "The Glass House", was just that, floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall glass windows and doors with 360 degree views, and a full wrap around porch. Perfectly designed with island luxury in mind and all the amenities you could imagine; oceanfront swimming pool, fire pit, hammocks, full kitchen and bar, fireplace, game room, pool table, and so much more. We spent our first evening in Islamorada enjoying all of the fabulous features this stunning home has to offer.

The following morning was the boat ride on Cynthia's ("CeCe's") gorgeous center console cruiser. We were joined by some of the OSIR team members, and were treated to lunch on the pristine white sand beach of Morada Bay. We dined on crispy bacon brussel sprouts, fresh mani topped salads, and fried oreos(!) as we sipped bloody mary's. To and from lunch we stopped at two of Islamorada's most popular and spectacular sandbars. We basked in the crystal clear emerald water and sunshine while enjoying great company and Islamorada's own Iguana Bait

Following a perfect day on the water, we returned to the Glass House to freshen up for dinner. We dressed head to toe in Island Company attire, as it perfectly compliments the Florida Keys lifestyle (see what we wore here!). Accessorizes from the new Kendra Scott's summer collection lended perfectly for the perfect Florida Keys chic look. OSIR treated us to a culinary experience at Ziggie and Mad Dogs, an Islamorada fine-dining staple know for it's steaks, chops, and fresh local seafood - one of our new all time favorite dining spots! We indulged on Delmonico Ribeye, sautéed snapper, truffle lobster mac n' cheese and pistachio creamed spinach, while sipping Vueve Rosé and Old Fashions.

Following dinner, OSIR surprised us in true Keys fashion with a fabulous burlesque show. The full scale theatrical production showcased talented and eccentric local performers and vibrant costumes. Key West Burlesque embraced the eclectic island culture, incorporating humor and audience participation to create a fun-loving engaging production.

On our last day in Islamorada, we joined OSIR at their gorgeous island boutique office for mimosas and farewells. While it was sad to leave our new friends and the island life, we look forward to returning to beautiful Islamorada soon!
